The Minister of Citizen Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, had acknowledged on October 28 that, under the existing framework, the police could not ban a gathering in an enclosed space, citing a relevant ruling of a judicial authority.
On the other hand, the government cites the need to protect public order and prevent incidents, particularly following recent clashes in Thessaloniki, which, however, were not caused by the friends and supporters of the Greek politician.

Prompted by the planned ban on his political gatherings, Ilias Kasidiaris launched a fierce attack on the government.
He speaks of unconstitutional machinations, maintaining that the restrictions will bolster his political influence.
«The Mitsotakis regime is in panic over the rapid rise of my electoral influence», argued Ilias Kasidiaris.
He accused the government of preparing a new unconstitutional framework while comparing the situation to the Turkey of Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
«They are murdering Democracy to rescue their corrupt dictatorship», he pointedly stated, escalating his attack against the Prime Minister.
Concurrently, he appeared confident that the restrictions will not halt his political activity.
«Unlawful bans will multiply my political power to the maximum degree», he declared, adding that neither his multi-year imprisonment nor previous legislative interventions succeeded in stopping him.
«They fear us, they operate in a state of panic, they commit rushed and criminal mistakes, in the end we defeat them!», the patriotic politician concluded.
